EU Community of Practice Meeting 2022
Mediation in a challenging international environment: building partnerships for sustainable peace
26th & 27th of October 2022
A virtual Open Space where participants propose a session and shape the future of EU mediation.
Build the new EU mediation concept
The EU is developing a new Concept for EU Mediation and a set of EEAS mediation guidelines that will guide its work into the next decade. This years’ Open Space aims to cultivate a joint understanding and mutual enrichment on EU mediation and mediation support. We want to continue the dialogue with peace mediation practitioners to advise and build our engagements.
Shape the meetings
Bring forth the issues that are important to you. We welcome novel, innovative proposals to enhance the EU approach to mediation. Sessions were run by the people who propose them, and pose an opportunity to feed into future EU mediation planning.
Move freely from one session to another
All sessions were open to all registered participants and convened by the organisers. They were “owned” by the people who propose them, while we assisted assist with all the necessary tools to help you have a productive discussion. Is the discussion not cutting it for you? Follow the law of two feet and move freely to another session.
Join from wherever you are
We are adapting to current travel limitations and hope to welcome you in a safe, comfortable online space. The Mediation Support Team convened this year’s Community of Practice meeting virtually, and all you need to join is a stable internet connection.
